Gennadiy Agranov Joins Apple

According to LinkedIn records, Gennadiy Agranov, a former Aptina's VP of Imaging Technology and Pixel CTO, joins Apple as a Director of Imaging Sensors Technology. Gennadiy used to be active in image sensor community and was the Technical Chair of IISW 2013 in Snowbird, UT.

    1. Titles don't matter, I can tell you more stories about it. Most important is to have fun in your job. Wishing Gennadiy good luck in his new future.

    2. Title does matter. It reflects a company's organization and the position/value in this company. Maybe this tells us why he switched to Apple. Maybe you too?

    3. I agree it is an odd title. Most titles that end with Officer are usually Corporate Officers and responsible for the corporation as a whole. But, Apple marches to the beat of a different drummer and perhaps there are Officers and officers. Perhaps Pixel Chief Technologist would be better.

      Gennadiy's switch to Apple is one in a long line of Aptina body snatches that Apple has performed. My guess is that the outlook for Apple is better than the outlook for Aptina. I just hope Aptina finds its way back. Particularly painful for me to watch from the sidelines.
