New inventions have a lot of claimed advantages (not talking about the realization yet) but they have also a lot of limitations compared to plein old CCD/CMOS technologies. In today's marcom, especially for the people selling dreams, the advantages are largely over-claimed and unhonestly extrapolated.<br /><br />But from other point of view, we need people to make dreams and all the inventions today comes from the old dreams.
