Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona had few interesting image sensor attractions. One of them is Samsung presenting its 8MP 1.4um pixel sensor, not announced anywhere, together with its schedule (click on picture to expand):



Samsung presented its high-resolution sensors roadmap, where 1.1um BSI sensors are expected by mid-2010 (click on picture to expand):



Advasense demoed its solid-state image stabilization, integrated onto 1.4um pixel-based 5MP sensor. The display on the picture below shows two images side by side, with image stabilization on and off - one can see the difference (click on picture to expand):
