System Level Design publishes a Yotube video interview with new (since about 3 years ago) Pixim CEO Chris Adams. While the title of the interview promises to talk about Pixim's new smart business models, I was unable to hear any:

Via Electrons and Holes blog. There is also a reference to Pixim's Youtube channel with great HDR imaging examples.

  7. Yes, Pixim's sales are not growing and it's not profitable, as I've heard. Its investors overhauled the management few years ago, but it did not help. This is why I expected to hear about the new smarter business models in this interview...

  8. David Yang and Deng have left Pixim soon after the company startup. They have set a company in Beijing called Vimicro and the business seems OK.
Any one knows why they left Pixim at the so early stage ?

  9. Pixim has not been a financial success. They may have raised more than $150M and they have spent it all...and the remaining value is worth whatever the current product is worth.

  10. My feeling is that they have the same products for years. Where have you spent so much money ? In marketing ?

  11. Actually, Pixim has been successful in the high end security market. At the last show I was at, quite a few security camera makers were actively touting solutions with Pixim sensors.
