ON Semi Publishes Its Sensor's Pricing

The post has been removed by ON Semi's request. The company has published prices by mistake.

  1. Is the price by tray or by sensor?

  2. By sensor. If we assume it's by tray, VITA2000 would cost $3.5 per sensor, too low for a 2.3-inch sensor.

  3. The 2.3 inch figure seems like a typographical error to me given the pitch and resolution.

  4. 3.5USD is a good price.

Just to clarify, here are some of the specifications you give for your VITA sensors:

    VITA1300 - 1.3 Mpixel / 150 fps / pitch 4.8 um / optical format "1/2 inch"

    VITA2000 - 2.3 Mpixel / 100 fps / pitch 4.8 um / optical format "2.3 inch"

    VITA25K - 25 Mpixel / 53 fps / pitch 4.5 um / optical format "35 mm"

    VITA5000 - 5.3 Mpixell / 75 fps / pitch 4.8 um / optical format "1 inch"

The figures as you have them indicate that the VITA2000 chip at 2.3 inches = 58.42 mm is much larger than the VITA25K chip at 35 mm despite having less than one-tenth as many slightly-larger pixels. They also indicate that the VITA2000 chip is more than twice as large as the VITA5000 chip, which has more than twice as many pixels of identical size.

If the VITA2000 chip has some other special feature that makes it so large, you should highlight that. If it's just the 2.3 Mpixel version of the VITA family, then the optical format you still have listed might need to be corrected.

  9. The question marks relate to a deleted spam comment -never mind.

  10. Correct optical format for the Vita2000 is 2/3", not 2.3" as mistakenly listed on the ON Semi website. will be corrected over night.
