Dynamax Imaging CEO Murdered

The Guardian, Democrat & Chronicle: Ling (Jim) Tan, CEO and Owner of Dynamax Imaging has been killed, alledgely by his 19-year old son. Dynamax Imaging used to be Panavision Imaging, and, before that, was an image sensor group of Silicon Image. Silicon Image got this group by acquiring Photon Vision Systems (PVS).

Update: Wayne Post adds few bits of info on Dynamax and its CEO: "The company was formerly based in Homer, in Cortland County, but in 2013 relocated to the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering's (CNSE) Smart System Technology and Commercialization Center of Excellence (STC) on Campus Drive in Canandaigua. The move was needed after the company outgrew its former Homer home.

When the announcement of the move to Ontario County came about in March 2013, Dynamax brought in excess of $3 million in equipment, plus 100 jobs, at the STC over a three- to five-year time span. The majority of the company's engineers, scientists and researchers from other U.S. locations moved to STC in 2013.

  2. It doesn't say that his son killed him. It just says that his son is accused of killing him.

  4. Rest in Pease, Jim!.
Trust me, you have to be super nice to these teenage kids. When my son (18 yrs) asks me to get a glass of water, I take no time to serve him.

    1. There shouldn't be much of any issue getting your son water, unless you, too, have been brutally beating your wife and kids for the last 15+ years.

    2. getting water should be fine, unless you're beating your kid

    3. As a parent, YOU are the adult. It's not about being "super nice" to teenagers or any age, it's a matter of being there for your kid and doing your best to understand them. Teenagers are not bad people! No, you shouldn't have to be "serve" your kid, but when one is beating his wife and kids, that is shameful and disgusting.

  7. as a neighbor I saw the police there over the last many years. I also witnesses the bruises and signs of physical abuse. So in my opinion he is a wife beater amongst that child abuser! Hope that his family gets the peace that they deserve. Now I hope that Charlie gets the justice that he deserves, peace and freedom from abusive his entire family endured.

  8. Xerox is now promoting itself as a 3D imaging leader...I hope that Charlie
Tan and his family have not been manipulated by Xerox and the legal system in Monroe County...for profiteering. I hope Charlie Tan is not killed in jail and I hope his brother and mother use wisdom and caution

    2. Have any of the assets of the Dynamax imaging been sold off to other technology type companies to keep the product lines available? Some of the sensors they offered are still better than what is available from current manufacturers.
