Some Japanese AC have small thermal imagers for air distribution for years. What are the advantages of visible image sensor in this case ? -yang ni
maybe this idea is to activate the airco only when human beings are present...
This is Bad News. Drafts of wind from air conditioners directly on the face can cause facial paralysis. They also cause other issues.This tech should be avoided.
But the tiny thermal sensor can do this also ... ?!
This wouldd work well on a Bidet!

yes, it is face detection, But, I think it maybe more solid if changing to "body detection & tracking" scheme. Then the AC could be an data collector for IoT or smart home applications.
If you make a sad face, the air is directed away from you...
