Digitimes: Sony gives priority to Apple, Huawei, Oppo and Vivo for CIS supply, according to the newspaper's sources. Other companies, such as Asus and HTC, have to source CIS from OmniVision and Samsung, the sources indicated.
There are rumors for iphone 8 and further Apple has moved away from Sony? Not sure if it's true though. I hope not. If it is that would put them in a difficult position, the IMX390 release was not good for Auto. It showed crosstalk and poor dynamic range. Not sure why Sony would put that out there, Sony Auto seems very immature.

ReplyDeleteThat is true, even previous generations like IMX224 and IMX290 did not achieve any huge market penetration in automotive as key features were missing.
