TriEye launches TES200 SWIR Image Sensor

TriEye has launched the TES200, a 1.3MP SWIR image sensor for machine vision and robotics. See press release below.

TEL  AVIV,  Israel,  September 3, 2024/ – TriEye, pioneer of the world's first cost-effective,  mass-market  Short-Wave  Infrared  (SWIR)  sensing  technology, announced today the release of the TES200 1.3MP SWIR image sensor. Based on the innovative TriEye CMOS image sensor technology that allows SWIR capabilities using a CMOS manufacturing process, the TES200 is the first commercially available product released in the Raven product family.

The TES200 operates in the 700nm to 1650nm wavelength range, delivering high sensitivity and 1.3MP resolution. With its large format, high frame rate, and low power consumption, the TES200 offers enhanced sensitivity and dynamic range. This makes the new image sensor ideal for imaging and sensing applications across various industries, including automotive, industrial, robotics, and biometrics.

The  TES200 is  immediately available in sample quantities and available for production orders with delivery in Q2 2025.

  1. what is the pixel size? and is there a price magnitude yet? i mean this seems to be the main selling point, right? whats the % magnitude compated vs the ingaas competition?

    2. I think that the point of the question is that with those values, a pixel would be saturated with dark current only in less than 1 millisecond. I would assume this is an error/typo in their datasheet.

  12. Then the max exposure time will be limited to a few tens of microseconds otherwise the wells will be filled by dark current. Am I right ?

  13. I think that they operate this sensor with very short exposure time under a pulsed laser illumination.

    1. In this case it is not passive SWIR imaging - how can it be used in machine vison applications ?

    2. They present great passive images - in day time.
      Most MV application are with active illumination. So this solution is fantastic if you want cost effective SWIR sensing... And as far as I know, they are the only available supplier. Not a science project.

  14. You illuminate your workshop with a strong 1550nm laser lamp ... it's eye-safe!

  15. In daytime, with Sun shine, the exposure time is normally under 100us. Of course in this case, you remove digitally the dark current contribution and can obtain nice image. Low sensitivity and low cost devices have no future.
