I agree. It is very frustrating not to have any specification, video or explanation on the technology. It looks more like marketing videos without scientific or technical value...
Well, for THz googling indeed doesn't show much - something about Silicon Photonics and Germanium diodes: https://www.imec-int.com/en/imaging-vision-systems/terahertz-sensing-and-imaging https://www.imec-int.com/en/imec-usa-florida/research-highlight-terahertz-thz-imaging https://www.futuresummits.com/admin/storage/itf2019/461285-imec-demo-1-thz-spectral-imaging.pdf
For the thin-film sensors there have been several publications about the underlying principle, but for now they've only been presenting data on diodes on glass substrates and alike. This is their first demonstrator in CMOS. Apparently, that will be presented at this year's IISW. Most recent publications before seem to be: http://image-sensors-world.blogspot.com/2018/12/imec-pbs-qd-photodiodes-for-cmos.html http://www.imagesensors.org/Past%20Workshops/2017%20Workshop/2017%20Papers/R54.pdf http://www.imagesensors.org/Past%20Workshops/2017%20Workshop/2017%20Presentations/R54/IISW2017_Malinowski_presentation.pdf
thanks for sharing the links. This: https://www.mdpi.com/1424-8220/17/12/2867 (also linked here: http://image-sensors-world.blogspot.com/2017/12/imec-quantum-dot-sensor.html) seems to be the paper version of the IISW presentation, with a bit more details and many links to other papers.
Nice job! Would've been nice to see the actual demonstrators in action as well - not only the interviews.
