AR and VR Market Potential

Statista quotes Goldman Sachs research predicting the industry reaching a value of $80 billion a year ($35 billion software and $45 billion hardware) by 2025, roughly the size of the desktop PC market today. The potential of AR/VR tech is extremely diverse:

  1. It surprises me that automotive is not considered as a market for AR/VR.

  2. The development of radar sensors for cars for monitoring nearby objects has progressed to the extent that warnings can be sounded during parking of cars in a crowded area. Similarly these sensors can be used for automation and automatic control of robots as well as navigation of platforms in the industry where production is automated. Where precision is important as in operation theatres in the medical industry, application of these sensors can also be bused. When need lenses can be used suitably to magnify the objects to be seen and the necessary resolution obtained.
