L-Rumors quotes Sigma CEO Kazuto Yamaki saying that the new full frame Foveon sensor will be manufactures by TSI Semiconductors foundry in Roseville, CA:
Interesting developments. I'm curious as to the level of needed cpu processing power required to process a full sensor read out from a 60mpx full frame Foveon sensor considering this is a return to the original 1:1:1 ratio.
This is a piece of news from 2019. Since then, Foveon has been closed. I really doubt that Sigma will be using a foundry for new X3 sensors in California. All the companies are escaping California, moving out both design and manufacturing, for serious reasons.
