Job searching site indeed.com offers some nice salary trend graphs. Here are the US national graphs saying that after the difficult 2013, salaries are on the rise this year:
When I look e.g. at the orange line, for me it is hard to believe that the salary drops by about 50% within 1 month in e.g. Jan 13 just to rise about 50% within 1 month in Apr 13. Are there really enough people working e.g. as Pixel Design Engineer (whose salary is known) to make any reasonable statistic? Never trust a statistic that you haven't faked yourself...
It is probably because one of the (few) companies whose salaries were being tracked had a layoff, or a shut down of some sort that lowered the average.
Maybe you should add the bar chart with the actual salaries

Deletebiz dev managers may have a large variable part in their salary based on bonuses and bonuses may widely vary based on a single big contract
