I'm not sure what to make of the FinFET lifetimes though; they appear to be slightly shorter than Planar but only when considering the marginal time after a new node has been developed. Is this due to the greater cost-overhead outside of lithography (which can't be the complete story because rarely is the going to a smaller node simply a matter of doing finer litho) which leads to incentive to upgrade an entire line rather than continue production using the amortized line?
