IC Insights Forecasts Imaging Market Stagnation in Two Years

IC Insights forecasts almost all major image sensor markets to stagnate starting 2016. Few bright spots are automotive, industrial/scientific/medical and PC/tablet markets:

    Based on what? Current architectures? I do not believe in these graphs. If we zoom in to a fe years ago and look at there predictions versus reality on might one might conclude that looking forward with a horizon of more than 6 to 9 months can be compared with gambling in the casino

    Sony’s presentation at VLSI Symposia in June painted a very different picture. See the article “Customer value creation in the information explosion era” by K. Shimada; Fig. 12 predicts a fast growing of CIS for M2M/IoT in next few years.
