Omnivision Announces 1080p HD Sensor

Yahoo: Omnivision introduced OV2715 - a 1080p 30fps HD image sensor optimized for the mainstream IP camera and HD closed circuit television (HDcctv) markets. The 1/3-inch OV2715 is built on a 3um zero CRA OmniPixel3-HS pixel, delivering low-light performance of 3300 mV/(lux-sec) and a peak dynamic range of 69dB.

The OV2715 is currently available for sampling with mass production scheduled to start in the Q4 2009.
