iSuppli Resolution Forecasts

Samsung CES 2010 presentation on flash memory standards quotes few iSupply charts on resolution trends in mobile DSC and DSLR cameras. Mobile chart has been around for some time, while other two were not openly published, as far as I know:

    How about the GHz race, do you remember?

    Who communicates on GHz today ? Nobody. If you look at retail laptop description, do you think people care ? No longer.

    My intimate conviction is 5MP is more than sufficient for a mobile phone.

    Soon people will ask for Exmor like. Look at Sony , they promote performance, no longer the number of pixel.

    I seriously doubt about penetration of 10MP+ in mobile phone
