Sony 3.45um global shutter pixel, said to be the smallest in the industry, is the base of two new sensors: IMX253LLR/LQR 1.1-inch 12.37MP and IMX255LLR/LQR 1-inch 8.95MP, available in both monochrome (LLR) and color (LQR) versions.
The company's Youtube video shows global shutter advantages:
it seems that the image of quality of GS sensor is still inferior to that of RS sensor, at least on this video.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the temperature range for such sensor?
ReplyDeleteIs it Automotive ready?
(I guess Automotive is asking for Global Shutter?)
Automotive prefers rolling shutter, at least for ADAS
ReplyDeleteummmm....cost
DeleteWhy they would prefer rolling shutter? Motion is an issue for detection with rolling shutter, no?
ReplyDeleteLED flickering needs long exposure
DeleteBut you can have long exposure both in rolling or global shutter.
DeleteGS long exposure will have motion blurring in their first stage cap.
DeleteFor LED blinking?
ReplyDeletecost and sensitivity are the main reasons for the preference of rolling shutter
ReplyDeleteStereo processing, especially with rapidly moving objects, I believe is much aided by global shutter.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWhat are the available cameras in the market who have these sensors inside?
Thanks!
