History of Innovations

International Journal of Engineering Research & Technology (IJERT) publishes a paper "CMOS Image Sensors: Recent Innovations in Imaging Technology" by Gagan Khanduri, Dev Bhoomi Institute of Technology, Dehradun, India. Most of the "recent innovations" in the paper are a deep history by now:

  1. I guess "recent" is a matter of relativity. This paper is a rehash of my 1997 paper and others that followed. Some academics are under a lot of pressure to publish something somewhere, and this what can happen. It is happening a lot, but not so much in image sensors. Sometimes entire papers are plagiarized and republished in less reputable journals under someone else's name.

I do agree with the definition of "recent". All references have a date of 2003 or earlier, except the two last ones. They are 2019. Apparently between 2003 and 2019 no major developments took place in the CIS world. Some people have a long winter sleep period ....
