ReplyDeleteThis nicely addresses an ingenuous way of filtering out the direct backscatter from fog. However, fog will still affect the total flux coming back from the actual target as well as the contrast of the target. These two topics weren't addressed. I'd love to see how real "Lidar under fog" actually is. My feeling is that due to the beamscanning approach the amount of signal coming back is so low that it renders Lidar useless under fog. I'd love to be proven wrong... Would be great to get feedback from Ibeo?
