13MP Panasonic Sensor in Mass Market Smartphones

Panasonic image sensors have design wins in mainstream smartphones. Chinese UMi Vienna and Super smartphones use 13MP Panasonic MN34172 sensor:

    where is SmartFSI,Organic,MCS or SPD image sensor? Panasonic

      My thought exactly except I think Panny announced the research results just to stay relevant and to please shareholders, and for patents sake. They don't have the ability or resources to put the advances in CMOS into production, since they don't have their own fab facility to do it.
