Sony Too Applies for GS Pixel with Internal Storage

Sony patent application US20140084138 "Solid-state image sensor, method for the same, and electronic device" by Takashi Machida is quite similar to few other global shutter pixel proposals. I wonder if this patent will be ever granted:

    Hi,

    I wonder how these in-pixel analog memories are implemented so its content is not degraded by light induced current leakage.

    The well structure (p-well on n-sub) helps reduce electrical crosstalk, and hence, parasitic light sensitivity (PLS). Pixels built on p-epi/p+sub suffer more from this issue.
