What type of customers are they trying to attract with such promotional movies? All mobile phone makers do know Samsung very well... just curious what goal(s) their marketing team is pursuing...
Maybe this video is aimed at smartphone users because most users think that Sony sensor is better than Samsung. And honestly I am one of those people who think that way because I always choose phones with Sony sensors.
OK this makes sense! Let them revive the “Intel inside” concept of Intel for the CPU in computers then... but applied to image sensors into smartphones? ;)
Exactly but unfortunately most people think Sony sensor is better and they want "Sony Inside" or Exmor RS Inside" on their phone. I'm as clueless as most people when it comes to image sensor but logically it seems the 2x2 OCL on the latest Sony sensor is still more useful than increasing pixel count.
The ISOCELL Bright HM1 sensor had some serious issues with autofocus on the S20 Ultra. The 48MP and 64MP sensors seemed to do just fine, so it's a mystery, why the 108MP had issues with autofocus. Samsung needs to check its quality control issues, more seriously. Also, picking up employees for its Computational Photography Algorithms, Hardware (Image Sensor, ISP and SoC) would also help. Like Google, they could poach employees from other companies.

Nonacell is 3x3 color filter, so it's not good for PDAF. 2X2 and 4x4 are straight forward, but 3x3 is not.
