DPReview tested the effects of OLPF omission in Nikon D7100 DSLR, comparing it with D5200 with similar 24MP APS-C sensor. There is no wonders, the resolution is a little better at the expense of more moire:
Nikon D7100, no OLPF
Nikon D5200 with OLPF
