3MP Moves to Camera Phones Mainstream

Digitimes reports that the mainstream of phone cameras will shift from 2MP currently to 3MP in 2009, according to Scott Lin, chairman of Largan. The mainstream resolution may further rise to 8-megapixel in 2010, Lin pointed out.

In addition to resolution, demand for automatic focus (AF) is on the rise.
