Talking about HTC Hero, Digitimes say that Aptina supplies 60%, while Samsung - 40% of the phone sensors. Aptina will supply more than 50% sensors for HTC handsets in the second half of 2009, and the rest will be shared by Samsung and ST, the sources indicated.
It's very interesting that iPhone 3gS went with ST Micro less than a month after releasing the launch models with an Omnivision sensor. Samsung clearly is the prefered choice overall.
ReplyDeleteWhat sensor and embedded DxO ISP does the Palm Pre use?
I believe iPhone uses both ST and Omnivision. It's quite usual that big handset manufacturers use two sources for camera module.
