Chipworks: iPhone 5 Primary Camera Sensor Made by Sony

While the initial look has not revealed the Apple iPhone 5 primary sensor part number, Chipworks found "a lonely little "SONY" mark on the sensor. The measured pixel size is 1.4um, same as in iPhone 4S:


The front camera's sensor has been identified as Omnivision's:

  1. How come OV lost the main camera, i thought OV uses 65nm and Sony uses 90nm. They are in real trouble if they are using advanced design rules and cannot beat Sony.

    This says that Sony is currently using the 65nm process rule.
