Samsung on Image Sensor Progress

NS (Stephen) Woo, President & GM of Samsung System LSI Division presentation at Analyst Day on Nov. 6, 2013 has few slides on image sensor progress:

    The last slide should show a leveling off of resolution above 12 MP. The majority of users do not want higher resolution smartphones given that social media is the primary usage. This also does not take into account the next 400M smartphones will be RMB 1000 phones, using 5 MP cameras. Market requirements are no longer driven by resolution alone. Perhaps Samsung is missing this.
