Digital Camera Sensors Database

The new Digital Camera Database has an information on pixel size, sensor areas and more from 3281 digital cameras. The information is nicely presented in graphical and numerical form. It's hard to believe that the whole web site is just one-man job!

Thanks to GB for the link!

Vlad, that is a funny comment, considering.

I checked two cameras and immediately ran into the problem that pixel pitch is only estimated, and thus both were only approximately correct, within maybe 5%. The website author warns of this due to lack of detailed information from the camera manufacturer, but just keep that in mind. Still, impressive database and for sure handy for even the image sensor community.

  2. I have something similar for astro-cameras (including some webcams and machine vision cams for Solar System imaging) - http://www.rkblog.rk.edu.pl/astro/kamery-ccd/ :)
