Sony Unveils DOL-HDR Sensors

After a long hiatus, Sony unveils two new 1.62um pixel image sensors featuring Digital Overlap (DOL) HDR mode. The 1/2.9-inch 6.82M IMX326LQC and 1/2.5-inch 8MP IMX274LQC are pin-compatible and target industrial and security applications. When in DOL HDR mode, the frame rate drops to the half of the one in normal mode.

Imager Mania publishes a nice overview of different HDR approaches that Sony used over the years (in Japanese).
