Omnivision Proposes RTS Noise Reduction Techique

Omnivision's patent application US20140063301 "Method and apparatus for reducing noise in analog image data of a CMOS image sensor" by Johannes Solhusvik proposes multiple sampling and thresholding to reduce RTS noise from the pixel:

    Is this only an improvement of the CDS method? How likely is it to become part of their new devices?
