Andor publishes a teaser for its oncoming Sona BSI sCMOS sensor-based cameras calling them "the world's most sensitive," to be officially unveiled on July 24, 2018:
Seems like BAE/Fairchild sensors are the ones usually labeled "sCMOS." While they have decent dynamic range and some have a global-shutter mode (albeit with compromise on dynamic range), they are hardly the world's most sensitive sensors.
Is this a GPixel sensor inside???
ReplyDeleteThe world's most sensitive what? And do they have global shutters? What about the dynamic range?
ReplyDeleteJust wait 4 more days to know more :)
ReplyDeleteSona? Does that mean they will use a Sony sensor and label "Scientific CMOS" all over the camera like some vendors? :)

DeleteIs gpixel inside?
ReplyDeleteIt should be a Gpixel since their pixel size is always huge. In this case, with the same RON, you get lower lux number ...
ReplyDeletenot huge always, they have 2.5um global shutter....
