Apple Adds Depth Computation Features to the New iPhone Cameras

Cnet: Apple event has a number of camera news in the oncoming iPhone models, including a dedicated depth engine that allows various depth calculations with the rear dual camera:

    Oh the global shutter IR sensor formerly known as the Invisage quantum dot sensor. Kinda shame it only ended up as an IR sensor. I gave it high hopes for a tuned type that would give "very organic KODAK/FUJI type look" just thanks to the characteristics of the quantum dot solution and not software LUt type transformations.
