ISP Pipeline for Computer Vision

Arxiv.org paper "Reconfiguring the Imaging Pipeline for Computer Vision" by Mark Buckler, Suren Jayasuriya, and Adrian Sampson from Cornell and Carnegie Mellon Universities questions the necessity of a traditional ISP in vision applications:

    This is already commonplace for vision systems where a photographic image is not required.

      now you have a somewhat helpful degradation value at hand that tells you what happens when you skip some of the standard units.
