The pinned photodiode CMOS image sensor was first publicly described in the 1995 IEEE Workshop on CCDs and Advanced Image Sensors at Dana Point CA by JPL and Kodak and was a joint JPL/Kodak invention.

DeleteDear Anon, there is a slide that says PPD CIS was first described in 1997. Just helping Boyd with the correction, that's all. It is important (to me) to get the facts straight when there is a clear error.
