Mixing two use cases - proximity sensing with a couple of pixels, with area sensing with larger arrays. By definition the 50 cent proximity sensors that sense when you put the phone near your head will sell more units than the $4 area sensors doing face unlock or Bokeh.
I wouldn't expect more out of financial presentations,and is in the same category of Apple calling their SPAD sensor a "LiDAR". The marketing and financial people are purposely trying to confuse people to make themselves look good.
